Hi team,

following this discussion that already close : https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-security/cisco-fmcv-7-0-5-cant-be-access-with-gui-and-ssh/m-p/4783611#M1098217

==> Summary : FMCv experiencing 100% CPU & Memory, but after reload the FMCv, it back to normal
BUT,

Seems like the health for the FMCv have a warning (it occured everyday) : Process Status - CoreCompressor Exited X time(s)

What causing this? How we mitigate this?

*already google it but havent found anything yet

Thanks,

Best Regards.

I have the exact same problem. FMCv has been crashing a lot times lately but believed that was from increasing vCPUs from 8 to 16. I've changed it back to 8 but this problem began occurring right before I did that and hasn't gone away despite rebooting FMC. The crashing appears to have stopped though. I have a TAC case open for the crashing but have provided this information. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I was advised I was hitting a bug in vFMC 7.0.5. https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvz13143 . The fix is to upgrade to 7.1.0.3

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the info!

so from the bug file that you share, the RCA for the issue is there's an anomaly with the Memory? and we need to upgrade it?

*wow, hopefully my customer not upset because this type of kind issue is always happening (issue > upgrade and vice versa)

on my case, we do not change anything on the ISE VM (not change the vCPU, RAM, etc),

it's just suddenly the FMCv had a CPU & Memory Process 100%,

after we restart it, it back to normal, but on the Process Status of FMCv it shows Warning : Process Status : Core-Compressor Exited X times

From my understanding yes. CSCwb36256 does state that 7.0.5 does contain the "fix" and if there are still issues to contact TAC and we are encountering the issue. It does show the only known fixed version for CSCwb36256 being 7.1.0.3. From a high view it sounds like we are having the same issue but as you said, you did not make any hardware changes. I got this issue after reverting it back to original state due to crashes after increasing CPU. The Core-Compressor Exited X times never goes away. I plan on upgrading in the next few days hoping that resolves the issue. I'd say if you're feeling hesitant to upgrade to contact TAC as maybe there is slight variance on the system you're working on?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the info and sharing.

Yes, maybe i need to contact TAC for why this issue is happening. Hopefully there's no need to upgrade (again).
