Hi everyone,

days ago when i open CSM client i noticed my device list is empty. all firewalls was disappeared.

when i check CSM's process status, DCRServer is shown as "Failed to run".

After checking DCRServer.log, its look like there is a expired certificate. here is the log:

[ Sat Jan 07 13:10:04 IRST 2023 ] Starting DCR Server...
[ Sat Jan 07 13:10:05 IRST 2023 ] No restore has happened
ERROR: Certificate Date Invalid
java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException: NotAfter: Thu Nov 24 22:26:56 IRST 2022

I find a document about "How to install Third-Party SSL Certificates for GUI access" but what about generate new self-signed certificate using CSM?
is there a procedure/document for generate self-signed certificate using CSM without any Third-Party CA?

i'm using CSM 4.17 SP1.

Thanks in advance

  1. Log in to CSM.
  2. Go to the "Certificate Management" tab.
  3. Click on the "Add Certificate" button.
  4. Select "Self-Signed Certificate" as the certificate type.
  5. Enter the necessary information, such as the certificate name and the validity period.
  6. Click on the "Generate Certificate" button.

This will generate a self-signed certificate that you can use for your Cisco device. Keep in mind that self-signed certificates are not trusted by default and are typically used for testing or internal purposes. If you need a certificate that is trusted by external parties, you will need to obtain one from a trusted third-party CA.
