Hi,
Running into a problem with Firepower Mgmt Center 6.2.0 and is throwing out a question while i wait for TAC reply.
I am trying to setup Firepower Mgmt Center 6.2.0 on an VMware ESXi 6.0 host, everything seems fine until i get the error sda: WRITE SAME failed. Manually zeroing and it hangs there. Let it be over the weekend and it is still on manually zeroing.
I dont think this is an acctual error but rather related to disc or raid controller. The ESXi requriments checks out.
I have tried multiple ESXi servers, SSD and non SSD and both ESXi 5 and 6, same error.
I have also tried version 6.1.0 and 6.2.0 of Firepower Mgmt Center and same error there aswell.
Anybody seen this and maybe there is a solution for it some where?
Update 05.04.2017:
Have tried all the availible SCSI controller drivers and the different hardware levels in ESXi 6.0 with the same result.
Update 12.04.2017:
Installed vFTD on a server with different disk types and the same message was displayed, but, after about 1 hour the login prompt was displayed when pressing enter and login could be done. Moved the VM to the server that hanged afterwards and everything seems fine.

Is it not just a part of the first bootup?
Can you login if you press Enter?

Hi,
Yes, it is part of the first bootup. After 4 days it still hangs so i shut it down and tried different SCSI controller drivers to se if it solved it. No avail, same "error".

So you are not able to press Enter and login afterwards?
I am quite sure that this is a normal "error" after spinning up the virtual machine the first time.

No, cant login.
When it hangs for 4 days i think something is not what it suppose to be. Have seen some forums where this is happening on every restart (not related to FTD do). Havent herad anything from TAC yet either.

Then I think that you have done the right thing contacting TAC.
I am eager to know what they say about it.

Hi i have exact same issue, what is the solution?

Try to just press enter and see if a login prompt will appear.
In my case it was like this. I thought the installation failed but actually it was OK.
