Clarification on ASA OS naming convention

Hi,

I was reading CSCse92254 Bug Details and it says that ASA OS version 8.3 is released.

I quote part of the bug detail as follows "- IKEv2 is a much better solution and will be implemented both on the AnyConnect Client and on the ASA. Dates have not been determined yet, but ASA release 8.3 is a strong candidate. The AnyConnect IKEv2 support will be timed around availability on the ASA."

Is this meant to be ASA OS 8.0(3)? Or, is ASA OS 8.3 actually released?

I understood that highest ASA OS is 8.1.2.

Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Based on the above description of the bug, 8.3 is not 8.0(3). 8.0(3) is a maintenance release of the major release 8.0.

I hope it helps.

Regards,

Arul
