is your NTP server behind the firewall ??
if it is behind the inside interface of the firewall you can run this command:
ntp server
To verify you can run:
show ntp assoc
show ntp status
hope this helps.

thank you Sebastian
I am using NET TIME client behind the inside firewall( office internet zone
) interface and linking it to a loocal time server on the internet ,
what should i configure on my firewall the inside client server ip address or the server itself on the internet ip address ?
then should i do the same on my cisco router before the firewall ?
then any access lisst must be there on the router or ASA to allwo the inside client to get the ntp port 123 update from internet local time server .
