I am having a difficult time copying files to and from a local tftp server with an ASA. I want to plug my laptop running the tftp server directly into the ASA on one of it's ethernet ports and copy files but I can't seem to get the laptop and ASA to communicate. Normally on a switch I'd assign an IP address on a vlan interface and then assign the switchport I'm using to that VLAN. I tried this on the ASA but it's not working. How do I configure the ASA to see the laptop?

- @dbuckley77 On the ASA try :
conf t
interface g0/1
nameif tftp
security-level 100
ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0
no shutdown

If the ASA connected to managment port you can use that for TFTP, if you are using inside then make sure you have inspect enable :
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
inspect tftp
