Copying thru PIX - Windows to Unix

Hi,

Is it common if we map windows-machine to unix, e.g Solaris server, through PIX, the copying process from windows to the Unix is slow?

The windows-machine is on the Internal (inside) network, while the unix server in the DMZ.

Access from Inside to DMZ (and vice-versa) is permit all (permit ip any any).

However, if the windows-machine sits in the same segment with the Solaris server, or vice-versa, the copying process is much better/faster.

If this is not common, can the copying process be improved, or it is due to the Windows NetBeui/NetBios issue/limitation?

Thanks

AK

Hi,

I dont think that copying across PIX would be that considerably slow. Are the both interfaces of PIX connected to switch and in full duplex mode? What does "show interface" says? Any errors? Any Syslog messages being generated?

Thanks

Question, when you say copying what do you mean (ftp, tftp...)?
