I have a home network using a 2600 and PIX515E, and unfortunetly I don't know how to set up ACLs. I read a few Cisco documentation but unfortunetly I am unable to grasp the concept of how to define them. Would anyone be able to give me a crash course on setting up ACLs?

Do you have ip addresses and what you want to block from getting from one place to another?

I really want to limit all traffic in. I'm guessing I don't know what an ACL is after all.

Hi Nathan,

ACL is the access control list which will be a rule which you define in your firewall to permit/deny the services based on your protocol/source ip address/destination ip address.

With that you can block the internet/allow only specific to the internet.

But i think in home internet i don think so much you require to block / allow.

Please do rate if the given information helps.
