(DNS) access to internal server over VPN

We have a remote office (ASA5505) connected to main office (3025). We can browse networks and access services on either side OK, but our exchange server host name also has the same public DNS host name so mail clients at the remote site try to connect to exchange at the public address. We are trying to get the clients to connect to exchange through the tunnel at the private address. The mail clients at the main site are configured the same as the remote site and they connect to the exchange server OK on the local lan.

I assume that your local lan has an internal DNS server which resolves the name to the internal IP address correct? is this DNS the same on the remote site? This is a problem on how the clients are given the name of the exchange by the dns server.
