Hi,
I'm looking information for a HA pair of 8130.
Do they come with built in ports or do the ports have to be ordered as Network Modules?
Also is a Management Center required to manage a HA pair of 8130 or not?
Is FS-VMW-SW-K9 the one to manage them?

Hi
You need netmods with the device which can be ordered along with the device.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/firepower-8000-series-appliances/datasheet-c78-732955.html
All firepower modules including the 8000 series does require firepower management center(FMC)
Virtual FMC is good enough to manage it. Hardware FMC is normally brought when there are many sensors and too much logging that needs to be stored.
Rate if helps.

Hi yogdhanu,
I see that the number of interfaces on the 8130 is fairly limited.
For instance I need at least 5 x 1Gbps copper ports and 10 x 10Gbps single mode fiber.
Can I achieve the same (IPS functionality) using an ASA? Instead of a IPS appliance like 8130 to use some ASA with firepower services and more interfaces?

Look at the FirePOWER 4100 series with FTD image.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/firepower-4100-series/index.html
They come with 8 SFP+ in the base chassis and you can add two more netmods for up to 24 SFP+ ports. Each can run at either 10 or 1 Gbps depending on the transceiver chosen. They also have a 40 Gbps netmod if you need that.

Marvin Rhoads and yogdhanu thank you for the suggestions.
One more question: Does the 8130 support single mode fiber optic connections?
In the configurator I'm only able to select 4-Port 1Gbps SX FI Network Module. There is no option for single mode optic module for 1Gbps.

The 8000 series does not offer single mode 1 Gbps option in their netmods.
The options offered on that platform are 1-Gbps copper RJ-45; 1-Gbps 850-nm (SX) fiber; 10-Gbps short-range (SR) and long-range (LR); and 40-Gbps SR4 (double height, bypass, only for 82xx and 83xx models).
