Duplicate log traffic from stateful Pixes 6.3(5)

Hi

I've been seeing duplicate log entries from my UR and FO running in stateful failover.

ie. the BOTH the UR and the FO send log messages for the same connections almost 80% of the time.

Is this normal? Does the UR and the FO always send log messages in paralel when stateful FO is configured?

I thought that only the active pix, in this case the UR, would send log messages.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Arno

hi,

it seems normal. you have to disable loggin from failover pair i guess

Hello,

the behaviour of logging by the standby system

of a Cisco Pix 500 (OS 6.3x, 7.0x) or

ASA 5500 7.0x

is enabled by the command:

logging standby

compare the command reference of the topic "logging"

for example of the Cisco Pix OS 6.3x
