we got sw ips on this router, how do we enable it?
where do we get the signatures?
is there any registration required?
what is the best practice to configure the ips on the 881 router?

This link will show you how to configure IOS IPS via the CLI. You need to be running an Advanced IP Services license on the 881.
Also, according to this link, if you're running IOS 15.0(1)M or later you'll need a valid IPS subscription license on the router.
