Hi All,
I have ASA 5510 with 8.3 version and using multi context.
I created a new context ABC and tryed to add routes in the context for the ABC networks it would not work. There was an error in the log stating, “failed to locate egress interface”. I changed the metric on the static routes from 1 to 2 and it started working.
Is it normal in a multi context?
If not please tell me what can be problem.

Do you have the interface on your system context with the command no shut?
On the context do you see it up by doing a show interface?

One virtual interface (Interface Ethernet0/1.1) is administratively down, line protocol is down.

you need to enable the physical interface. That needs to be done on the system context.
