Failover mode - Public IPs

Hi all,

I've got two Cisco ASA 5510, where there is on primary and another one as Standby failover. They both have a public IP address.

Primary: 201.201.201.201

Standby: 203.203.203.203

PRIMARY ASA:

Failover On 
Failover unit Secondary
Failover LAN Interface: failoverlink GigabitEthernet1/8 (up)
	This host: Secondary - Active 
		  Interface outside (201.201.201.201): Normal (Monitored)


SECONDARY ASA:

Other host: Primary - Standby Ready 
                Active time: 0 (sec)
                  Interface outside (203.203.203.203): Normal (Monitored)

Question:

When the primary goes down, the standby will take over. Will the standby take the IP 201.201.201.201? or will it keep its IP 203.203.203.203?

The active unit will always use the primary IP set regardless whether its
the configured primary ASA or configured secondary ASA

So, if my primary ASA goes down, the secondary (standby) will take over.

Question is: Will it keep the IP 201.201.201.201 as its primary IP address? or it will use the one it is already using? 203.203.203.203

First you subneting is wrong. 203.203 and 201.201 are different subnets.
Both ASAs should have interfaces in same subnet.

If you have pri with 201.201.201.201 and sec with 201.201.201.202, when
it failover sec will get 201.201.201.201
