Failover with Pix 525

I have configured cable Failover using as well as statefull failover using a crossover cable. The failover works fine but the state does not. When I transfering a big FTP file and pull an ethernet cable from the active unit it failsover to the standby but the ftp connection drops. I thought with statefull failover the connections do not have to be re-established. I also lowered my poll interval from default 15 seconds to 5 seconds and still the same results. What can I do to futher troubleshoot this issue?

If you are running an older version of PIX OS, you could be running into CSCdu61691 "stateful failover doenst replicate conn for passive ftp using PAT". If however you are running a recent version, you are probably running into CSCec42449 "Stateful FO does not replicate Conn for active FTP with static PAT"
