FMC 4000 remote power on via ILO

Does anyone know if it is possible to remotely turn on the power on a FMC 4000 appliance via the ILO connection?

I have an open TAC case where we need to do a BIOS upgrade due to a firmware bug.

According to TAC, after the firmware is installed the appliance will be powered off and we

would need to physically press the power button on the appliance to start it up again.

Since the two appliances are located in another country in two different DC's, this will be a quite time consuming task where we have to get peoples on site to help us. If we could use the ILO connection for this it would save us some time and hassle.

Regards

/Jorgen

I haven't tried it but it is based on a UCS C-series server.

The CIMC (Cisco Integrated Management Controller - the UCS name for what's commonly referred to as iLO) does support "Power on, power off, power cycle, reset and shut down the server".

Thanks Marvin, I will look into that the next time I am at the customer.
