FMC 7.7 - good grief...

I upgraded from 7.6 ( worked fine ) to 7.7 today. Lab gear so no impact, but this is a terribly buggy release. After an hour of making sure all of my browsers are up to date, clearing them out of cookies blah blah - the 7.7 GUI will work for a minute or so, and then times out for 20 seconds or more. It comes back, you can get through a few clicks, and it times out again. CLI response is fine as is network connectivity. Nothing in faillog or messages at all.

Anyone else try this one yet?

No, it's not showing the recommended gold star so I would only drop this on
a lab setup not in production. I've read the release notes on the open and
resolved bugs but I don't see anything related to the issues your having.

Cisco already pulled the initial -89 release. New release is -91.

"

If you are already running 7.7.0-89. Do not upgrade/install the newly posted image (7.7.0-91). Reach out to Cisco TAC for a workaround.

"Good Grief" is right.  The web interface is VERY buggy.  Even when reverting to what is now the new "Legacy" interface.  It occasionally returns content formatted like the "Legacy-Legacy" interface.  Seems to be experiencing an identity crisis.

Don't try to open multiple tabs . . .  From my experience with 7.7.0-91, that starts the chaos every time.

This is all strange, I have been using FMC 7.7.0 in a primary - secondary configuration for a couple of week now and finding it very good. None of the problems you describe, what browser do you use and are you running any addons ?

Please rate as helpful, if that would be the case. Thanx

Mainly Chrome - No add-ons.  Though I have experienced issues with both Chrome and Firefox.  As soon as you ask your quesitons it is behaving, but when I was checking status this morning it was extremely frustrating.  A lot of "This site can't be reached", "Page Not Found",  and "Connection timed out".  If I stay in a single browser tab, it mostly behaves.

Tested with Firefox, Chrome, Brave, IE 10, and Edge. Same issue across all. Multiple machines, multiple OS's even Server 2022. Issue is always the same. Are you hardware FMC or virtual?

I have used FMC 7.7 VM without issue on both VMware ESXi 8.0u3 and Proxmox (KVM variant).

I am running virtual FMC on VMware ESXi 8.0.3, Build 24585383 (8.0u3d).

I have used it in my lab in both Beta and release versions and found the GUI to work fine. I mostly use Firefox but did not have to jump through any hoops for it to just work. I've not deployed it in any production settings yet.

Firefox is the best browser to use, I have found chrome based sometimes slow when working with large policies.

After a few days, I am having no more issues with the web interface.

I opened a support case for other issues (including the known Talos connectivity and URL download certificate issue), and apparently discovered what may be another "defect" related to Deployment Confirmation emails not being sent.

Is there anyone else who is accustomed to sending themselves, or others, confirmation emails when deploying policy changes?  Is that still working for you with 7.7.0-91?

This is wild. I can spin up any brand new FMC, 7.2, 7.4, 7.6 - no config at all - web interface works fine. Spin up a new 7.7 - no config - times out. I sent HAR files to TAC, the BU is reviewing. No idea what it could be. It's an older ESXi 6.5 host, but that is "supported" according to docs.

Have done the same thing several times with no problems. Using virtual: VMware ESXi, 8.0.3, 2402251
