Solved: FMC Upgrade / Request for documentation

Hi all - I have "inherited" some items that look like they need to be upgraded. I've read through the upgrade guides, etc but wanted to make sure I am not missing anything.

I need to get my virtual FMC from 6.0.1 -> 6.1.0 -> 6.4.0

Can I perform this upgrade prior to upgrading my actual physical IDS's? I can't find anywhere that talks about order of upgrades.

Your FMC must always be at or above the version level of the managed sensors.

This chart show the exact version compatibility:

Generally speaking 6.4.0 FMC can manage 6.1 or later devices.

So upgrade first your FMC and then the devices to 6.1. Then you can take your FMC all the way to the latest (6.4.0.3 as of today) and then the devices too.
