FP2130 Modes

Being new to the Cisco Firepower lineup I had a question regarding the 2130?

It's my understanding that the you can run these in 2 modes:

1) ASA on FP2100

2) FTD on FP2100

What are the benefits/requirements that one would run one over the other?

Thanks

ASA  is Old Lina code, Cisco eventually fade that ASA (since Firepower is the replacement)

Firepower is a Next Generation FW ( replacement of ASA) - so future is Firepower

Bit old but still compare is good :

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

So how I understand the Firepower linup as follows:

You can run 1 of the following 2 on the Firepowers:

1) ASA on Firepower (FXOS and ASA)

2) FTD on Firepower (FXOS and FTD)

When you initially connect via serial you are at the FXOS prompt and to get to the ASA you have to connect asa for example?
