Solved: FTD on 5512-X

I am trying to decide whether to buy SSD and install FirePOWER on this or to install FTD on the ASA itself.

The ASA will not be used for any VPN technologies. I will potentially be running it in mixed multi context mode with a routed and transparent context.

Are contexts yet supported in FTD?

SSD FirePOWER looks to be my only option for now?

FTD does not currently support multiple contexts. It is in the roadmap, but not in the upcoming 6.2.1 release.

ASA with FirePOWER service module does support multiple contexts but the module is not context-aware. If acts unilaterally on all traffic that is directed to it for inspection by whichever context - i.e. using a single Access Control Policy for all conexts.
