FWSM cpu utilization

Dears,

        i have FWSM installed 6500 BB , its S/W 4.0(8).

when we add any ACL line , cpu go from 5% to 95%.the traffic is not affected.

any help please.

If you have a huge ACL configuration, adding a new ACL will increase the utilization as it is compiling the ACL in hardware. However, the utilization should go down once the ACL compilation is completed.

Are you only seeing the issue recently after the upgrade to version 4.0.8? if yes, what version of software where you running before when you don't see the issue?

Also not that if you are using ACL optimization then then the ACL recompilation will take a little more time.
