i'm reviewing the 3100 FW data sheet and would like to learn more on the "stateful inspection firewall throughput (multiprotocol)".
can someone expound on this? is the throughput refer to the "full duplex" in an interface? i.e. in a 3105 it's 9.0 Gbps, does this mean 4.5 Gbps ingress and 4.5 Gbps egress?
i found other links that refers throughput as the "aggregated" traffic on all FW interfaces. i tried to search for cisco link/live doc or pdf that would support this but couldn't find any.
can someone confirm or share an official cisco doc/link?
Throughput is 'bits routed through the box', they are not double-counted. if a network card has capacity of 100Gbps then it can process 100 Gigabita of traffic per second, it can be ingress or egress traffic from the ports of the card.
