How to Access A backup server behind the firewall

Hi Support community,

Here i having problem that is,

I am maintaing two servers behind my ASA firewall. One is primary and another one backup server for primary server in case primary server failure occurs.

I configured port forwarding for the primary server. Here i want configure if any request come from outside to access my inside primary server that request automatically redirected to the my secondary server, if my primary server fails.

Please remeber here that same request for primary server will forward to the secondary server, if primary server fails.

your response is very valuable to me..

With Regards,

Janardhan.

This feature that you are after is not supported on the ASA. ASA doesn't check if the server is available or not, and will only forward traffic towards the NAT statement configured on the ASA.

HI Jennifer Halim,

Thanks for your quick reply.....

Then how to implement these scenario?????

Is there any other firewall will support this feature????

You will need to use a load balancer device for this type of topology, or use failover within the server itself.

Firewall function is to provide security protection, not to check if the primary server is up and/or provide server load balancing feature.

For those, you will need to use device that supports that.

Hi Jennifer Halim,

Thanks for quick reply,

Will you give me CISCO load balancer devices inforamation????
