Solved: How to do Failover in in two IPS?

Hi,

Its Interview question can you please give me an idea to make failover in IPS 6.1 or any? ANd how its work I try to search I did not get proper solution.

Help on same.

Hi Abhinay,

There is no built-in failover mechanism in the IPS software.

Redundancy can be achieved by either chaining sensors on HW bypass capable interfaces or to put sensors on multiple areas of your network and let the layer 2 connectivity send the traffic through one or another.
