Intermittent Latency and Packet Loss Only when ping from inside host to external IP in same ASA - ASA 5550

Hi,

I am having a serious problem when i try to ping an external IP that is configured in the same ASA from an inside host.

Sometimes i have packet loss and high latency (400 ms).

I try to ping the ip address 62.xxx.xxx.28 (public IP) from 10.0.0.21 (inside).

The 62.xxx.xxx.28 has NAT to another server in the same network on interface inside (10.0.0.130).

What is happening is that when i ping the external ip (62.xxx.xxx.28) from the 10.0.0.21 host, i have big latency and packet loss. But if i ping from any outside host, from the office by example, to the 62.xxx.xxx.28, i have no problems at all.

Can someone help with this?

My ASA 5550 have the 8.2 version.

Thanks

Hi,

Can you check the ping statistics when you ping this external IP from the ASA directly?

Aditya

I can't ping from ASA to this IP.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 62.xxx.xxx.28, timeout is 2 seconds:
?????
Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)
