Intranet IIS Web Sites Slow over VPN Connection

I'm having a problem with Slow Intranet Web sites when accessing over a Cisco VPN or over a Cisco Aironet (when in the office). When Not connected via VPN or Wireless (Local LAN or Broadband Internet Connection), the Web sites are fast.

When accessing over VPN, Wireless, or local LAN, DNS will respond with an internal IP address.

When accessing over the internet (external from the office) DNS will respond with an external IP address.

If I add a local Host entry in windows xp for the external IP address of the Web server, the traffic bypasses the VPN Tunnel and operates at a fast speed.

I do not appear to have a problem when connecting in the same fashion to a Bea Web Logic Web site.

The IIS server is connected to a CSS11501, but it isn't loadbalanced....could that pose a problem?

Any Ideas?

hi!

1. First try to find paths, when access via VPN and external. Then you can able to find, where it is getting struck while accesing via VPN.

2. COnfigure the internal DNS ip address in you local machine as well as in the router.

3. Give the route to your internal DNS via tunnel, if it is in different subnet.

HTH.
