IPS Processor Utilization

Hello All,

My name is Michael,  I work with a multinational company..  Rescently, my company bought an IPS 4270 running IOS version 7.0 and it was my project to set it up.. I configured the IPS in promiscous mode. it has started monitoring my traffic, But the one issue I have is that one out of the four CPUs always clock up to 100%, and one is always 5%, whhile the other two are like 60% each... I was thinking the memory utilization should be spread out accross  the four processors and not one of them over utuilized while others are under utilized...  Any idea of what to do...

Hi Michael,

CPU statistics are not true indication of the load on the sensor.  The Inspection Load Percentage in the output of 'show inspection-load' should be used instead.

thanks
