Hello and good day,
I need to install the Cisco FirePOWER User Agent for Active Directory on a Windows Server 2016-based Active Directory domain.
My plan is to install it on a member server also running Windows Server 2016, however I can't find any information regarding agent compatibility with Windows Server 2016 (Windows 10 seems ok though). Also, the latest 2.3 version of the User Agent is dated 2015 when Windows Server 2016/10 did not reach GA yet.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Massimiliano

It is not technically supported for the reasons you noted. However it is compatible and does work.
I just verified it in my lab with my local domain (Windows Server 2016 domain controller and the domain is Server 2016 functional level as well).
The Agent installed fine, connected to the DC (localhost in my case) via WMI to retrieve logon Security Events and reported them accurately to my FMC 6.2.2.
