I've barely worked with ASA's before and I would like to learn more about configuring them (even if it's just the bare bones minimum), so I recently purchased an ASA5510. Can someone give me a few pointers what I need to know, how to configure, and etc... Anything to help someone new who hasn't really seen the configuration side of one before.
Thank you.

I'd suggest starting with a presentation of two from Cisco Live - those are free to download the slides or watch the videos.
Also have a look at the configuration videos at labminutes.com. They do an excellent job of walking you through setup from basics to advanced topics. Also free.
Post any follow up questions you have about specifics here.

Marvin,
Thank you for the information you provided. I am sure I'll have more questions come Friday (when my ASA) arrives. Meanwhile, I'll check out the labminutes.com website and look for some Cisco presentation videos as well.

hi,
aside from marvin's post, i suggest taking up courses like CCNA Security (IINS) to have a good foundation and reading personal blogs to help build an ASA lab.

John,
Thank you for that information. I do have a test lab that I will use with the ASA. Currently, the test lab is using IOS type firewall.
