memory heap error

Dear experts

Memory Heap Error logging in to the IPS device. Experts, anytime i try to log on to the IPS device using the GUI, I get a memory Heap error. I have tried the suggestions on the cisco help about increasing the heap size on my computer to 256 but i still get the same error. 

Please any suggestions on how to go by this ?

I have even increased the memory heap size to 1024 but to no avail.

edit the shortcut for asdm

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -Dsun.swing.enableImprovedDragGesture=true -classpath lzma.jar;jploader.jar;asdm-launcher.jar;retroweaver-rt-2.0.jar com.cisco.launcher.Launcher

and it will fix the issue

It worked like magic. Apparently i was changing it in the java icon on the control panel
