Move FTD device from virtual FMC to physical FMC

Hello

I need to move some FTD devices (FTD 2100, and ASA w/FTD) from a virtual FMC to an existing physical FMC.  I have seen some comments about when you de-register a firewall from FMC, you lose its configuration.  Is this true?  If so, can I backup the configuration on the virtual FMC, then import that configuration backup into the existing physical FMC to do a restore when I de-register and move the firewall?

If this is not the way, is there a way to move firewalls between FMCs?

There's not a really clean way. The product line is a bit immature in this regard at this time.

You can export the Access Control Policy from the virtual FMC and then import it on the physical FMC.

Go to System > Tools > Import/Export for that.

The device configurations (interfaces, platform settings etc.) will have to be recreated.
