Hi All
I currently have an ASA5550 using multiple contexts using interface gi0/0 for the outside interface.
I use interface gi0/0 for the outside with an IP address of eg 1.1.1.1/24 in context1.
In context2 I use the same interface 0/0 and have allocated an ip address of say 1.1.1.2/24. In addition i'm using different MAC addresses on the interface for each context. This works perfectly fine.
However I'm going to create another context3 and again use the same outside interface 0/0 but this time want to give it an ip address in a different subnet - eg 2.2.2.2/24
I'm presuming this is possible ? (I've always used the same subnet previously)
thanks

hi,
yes, it's possible. i also do this on our context-based ASA FW to NAT multiple clients on each context using a different outside public IP.
you might want to issue to mac-address auto under the system context to automate the MAC address assignment for 'outside' interface for each security context.
