"errSystemError-ct-sensorApp.454 not responding, please the check the system processes

The coonect to the specified IO::clientPipe failed"

Hello

Try downgrading the sensor using the following procedure:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/6.0/configuration/guide/idm/dmImage.html#wp1044573

If it solves the issues, try installing one more time. If the issue still persists, I would suggset to open a TAC Case. This is not a known issue AFAIK.

Hi Farrukh,

Thanks for your valuable suggestion, can i get a command to start "Analysis engine" in IPS-4240-k9.

Regards,

Tejesh

Hello Tejesh

To restart the analysis engine you need to:

  1. Setup a 'service' account on the box
  2. Login with the service account
  3. SU to root  using "su -"
  4. Type the same password as the service account for root logon
  5. Restart the CIDS services using

        /etc/init.d/cids restart

        OR

        /etc/init.d/cids stop

        /etc/init.d/cids start
