Password Recovery on a PIX 515e

Apparently I did something setting up our new pix, it let me in priv exec mode then when I went back into enable the password I put in didn't work. Now what is odd is that I had the setup still on the screen and typed it the same way. Now where I might have messed up is when I finally got the PDM to come up it wouldn't let me in so I typed pass <mypw> encrypted and it said the pw was invalid to 16 characters. After that I couldn't get back in. So is there a pw recovery? Thanks and feel like a bonehead having to ask this.

Hi,

Your problem could be the classic extra characters in the password. Did you type in : pass encrypted ?

If so, a part of the word "encrypted" could be part of your password !!

The encryption goes automatically. You do not need to say write it while configuring.
