Hi all,

In ASA 5520, show module shows

Mod Status             Data Plane Status     Compatibility

since the customer forgot the password to enter the IPS module, we forced to reset the password. When i entered the cmd

ASA2# hw-module module 1 password-reset

Reset the password on module in slot 1? [confirm]

The SSM application version does not support password reset

Failed to reset the password on the module in slot 1

As per the readme.txt for the upgrade, we need mimimum 5.1 but the current is 5.0.

How can we reset the password with the current image running.

Here is the only way to recover password if you are running version 5.0:
