Hi all, I have a quick question, I like to set up a pix and router for this network for a small buss, but I need to know what type of cable do I need to set this connection to work straight through or a cross over cable?   also I need a subgestion if a nat would work better on the pix or leave it on the router?

To connect a PIX directly to a router port, you would need a crossover cable. However, if you are connecting the PIx to a switch first, then you need a straight through cable.

If you already have them configured on the router, i would just leave it on the router to avoid reconfiguring the network.

What version of PIX are you currently running?

I believe it is a 6.3 (5), would I be able to assign the same subnet ip add to both inside and outside ports of the pix? actually we are implementing the pix..... to a live network..

No, you can't assign the same subnet IP to both inside and outside interface since PIX is a routed port, not a switch port.

that's what I though, we will have to do some changes on the router but that's cool, thanks for the help though...
