PIX 515 Password Recover Help

I'm using the following procedure list to try to recover the password (/blank the password) on a PIX 515

I have the appropriate binary file (np63.bin) and have a computer  connected to the network and to the PIX via a console cable. I have  downloaded a free tftp software onto the workstation.

The PIX seems to be the default gateway on the network.

PIX IP: 10.10.0.7

Workstation IP: 10.10.0.11
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 10.10.0.8



Please can some explain which IPs I should be entering in for the address, server and gateway commands from the monitor> prompt.

And also how I should setup the tftp software on the workstation.

I dont have any experience in this equipment so all help greatly appreciated!!

Hello,

On the PC that is directly connected to the PIX, download TFTPd32 package (which is a TFTP Server) and install the software.

Once you install the software, go to C:\Program Files\tftpd32 folder and copy the np63.bin file to that folder.

Now on the PIX, get to monitor mode and configure the following:

interface 0

(Wait for the response)

address 10.10.0.7

gateway 10.10.0.11

server 10.10.0.11

file np63.bin

tftp

Now you should be able to follow the procedure listed in the document you have referred.

I actually got it to work, thanks.

It was the tftp server that was incorrect.
