I am Just learning Cisco so this is very very new to me. I am placing a PIX firwall on our network that had peviously be managed and internet provided by our headquarters. (We now have our own T-1 line)

I need my PIX 515e to tranlate my inside IP addresses to a 10.8.x.x network on a 255.255.0.0 subnet. This is how all of my network is currently setup and need the PIX to be on this subnet and 10.8.x.x network. I am not sure how to do this in PDM. when i change the inside interface to 10.8.1.1 with a subnet of 255.255.0.0 i lose all connections with PDM so scared i reboot the PIX setting it back to the way it was.

Can anyone offer any help? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Is the inside or the outside of the pix supposed to be using the 10.8.x.x subnet? It cannot use both. Do you need to be using 10.8.x.x on the outside due to the HQ setup?
