Hello All, 

My company was recycling their old cisco 515e and let me take it for studying purposes.  Is it still relevant for ccna security?

Also I don't have the passwords to the device nor do I know what the interface IP is for password recovery, how can I completely wipe the device without trying to use tftp to recover the password?

Use a console cable for access if you don remember IP.

I'm confused on this part where it states address and server, I believe address is the address of the interface and server is the address of the tftp server.  What if I don't know the interface IP?

You just set the address with the "address" command.

The fact that you could ping the tftp server after having set those parameters confirms the connectivity.

That said, johnlloyd_13   is correct that the Pix is not relevant for CCNA Security. You would be better off saving up to get a new ASA 5506, especially if you have any intention of eventually pursuing CCNP Security.

the pix FW is NOT relevant for CCNA Security anymore.

it became obsolete on version 7.x.

the exam topic specifically covers ASA version 9.x.
