I have a PIX 525 (7.1(2)4)failover pair. I need to configure a new interface on the PIX. When I use the command NAMEIF and name the interface the PIX reboots. I have done this with the inteface shutdown and up. The results are the same.

It look like bug to me: check the bug-id:CSCsd74328, this bug has fixed in versions 7.1.2.6, 7.2 and 7.3.

Yes I have upgraded the PIX IOS and I was able to sucessfully add the interface NAMEIF.
