We have some internal links which have recently become part of an external organisation. I would like to connect them onto one of the interfaces on our PIX515, just one problem we have IPX/SPX running on the link. What normally happens in this situation?

IPX does not pass directly through the PIX (IP only protocol stacks in the PIX). You can pass IPX traffic indirectly using a protocol such as GRE between two routers. The downside to that is that the PIX is not performing any security checks.

I had to setup a router inside and run GRE to a router outside to carry the IPX. Thankfully we moved all Novell to IP and that went away.

I am not concerned about security as I have control of a router that I can place access-lists, filters on.
I have not heard of GRE what do you need to do to get this to work?
Thanks
