pix console problem

Hello all,

I have two pix 535 configured in failover. I've tried to connect to them through the console port but I can't do it. It doesn't appear any message.

I have probed the serial cable and it works on other cisco stuff, so I think the problem is with the pix's.

Some days before I've configured the failover from the console and now it doesn't work.

Any idea?

PS: When I finished to configure the failover I forgot to logout from the console. I only unplugged the cable.

hello,

can u try resetting the pix and see if you get the boot messages and the pix console after this ?? is the secondary pix operational ? are you seeing the activity / Status LED's green on this PIX ? what does the "show failover" command on the primary PIX suggest. Is the failover active ? just check these things..

Raj

Hello,

At now resetting the pix is not possible. They are working.

Both of the pix are operational and I can see activity on the pix's (LEDs).

The failover is active. The primary one is active and the secondary in standby.

I've access to both of them through ssh, telnet and with pdm.

Regards,

hello,

resetting the failover unit will not cause any downtime. anyway, all traffic is through the primary unit.. the failover is just in a passive mode.. do it whenever u can and let us know...

Raj

Hello,

Ok, I can do it. Which command do I must to use? I mean, the reload command is the only one I know to reset the pix but it do cause a downtime, doesn't it?

Thanks.
