Pix crashes the connection

hello,

there is a strange situation with PIX501. It is connected to the internet throuth DSL modem, an once a day it hangs a connection. I can.t ping it from outside and so on, and from inside two. it seems like interfaces a down, but i connect to it through consle and it show that everything is ok, i have tried to turn off all login, to minimize amount of uzed memory... but the same. when i issue

interface ethernet0 shutdown and than

interface ethernet0 auto

basicly restart ethernet0 everything start working again.... so any ideas?

maybe there is some tool o comand which checks PIX for a ping or smth....?

Is the CPU going up ? try blocking all unnecessary things like icmp, snmp etc on the PIX and see if it stabilises..

Is the PIX not reachable or a problem with browsing only / NAT translation problem ? do let us know.

thanx for the ideas, but i have already did that things, i blocked everything i could, cpu utilization iz normal. PIX becomes reacheable only via console, but not from ethernet( NAT doesnot work either). And when you plug in to the pix, it shows you the state of interfases, and everything looks OK, no missed packets, no giants no runts... nothing, interface is up.... very strange....
