I hope someone can confirm this, but the PIX does not support an helper-address.

- Configure your outside interface as DHCP Client (ip address outside dhcp)

- Configure the dhcpd /Server) for Inside Interface

- Tell the pix dhcpd to use the parameters received as DHCP Client on outside interface: dhcpd auto_config

From a long distance view this looks like a dhcp-relay function ; -)

Are you trying to use a DHCP server located one interface of the PIX to serve addresses to clients residing on other interfaces of the PIX? If that is the case, then Reineke is right. The PIX does not support ip-helper. I am not even sure that Reineke's solution will work for you.

Yes, I trying to use a DHCP server located one interface of the PIX to serve addresses to clients residing on other interfaces of the PIX....

Cisco, make this function in PIX!

Thanks

Me again ...

Actually the PIX only supports dhcpd for clients physically connected to the inside network. The dhcpc function is only available at the outside interface.
