hi,
when you configure failover, you have to assign each interfacean ip @,
when you dont assign an ip @ to a failover interface, the pix keeps showing waning message. it assumes that there is an error.
so you have to give each interface of your failover pix an ip @
failover ip inside whatever...

More specifically, each physical interface needs an address. Even if you have only VLAN interface(s) defined. Annoying.
Workaround: P2P between active & standby interfaces, eg 10.0.0.0/30
