will the new 515E work in a failover environment with the "now-replace" 515??

When we went to a failover configuration, we had to upgrade our existing PIX to a like platform for TAC support. I think hardware has to be identical. You might want to ask your Cisco rep or the tac to be sure.

Both PIX's must be identical in both hardware as well as software.
