nazmul.hassan

Level 1

Pix  6.2

Eth5  is  my failover interface  conneting via a  layer 2 switch

FW# show  failover

  LAN-based Failover is Active

        interface fo (x.x1.1): Normal, peer (x.x.1.2): Unknown>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

FW#sh interface ethernet5

interface ethernet5 "fo" is up, line protocol is up>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>  I don’t think  it’s a cable  issue

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit full duplex

0 packets input, 0 bytes, 0 no buffer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>nothing coming from the  switch

        Received 0 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants

952 packets output, 57162 bytes, 0 underruns>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> leaving traffic from the  FW

I don't have  access  to the  layer 2 switch as  there is no ip in it .

However they  are  in the  same  VLAN .

Any  susggestion?

Do you have the Failover-config on your secondary applied? And what is the output of the above commands on the secondary PIX? Have both units the same OS-version, are they same devices?

And if the two PIXes are nearby, then use the old serial link to see if they can build a FO-system that way.
