Hi, I cannot get my failover to work no matter how many technical documents I read. What really bothers me is that I am getting am getting a status of 'secondary' on my primary pix. This is what the output of 'show failover' provides on my primary pix:

This host: Secondary - Active

Active time: 1110 (sec)

Interface outside (0.0.0.0): Link Down (Shutdown)

Interface inside (0.0.0.0): Link Down (Shutdown)

Interface FO (196.45.175.253): Normal (Waiting)

Interface intf3 (0.0.0.0): Link Down (Shutdown)

Interface intf4 (0.0.0.0): Link Down (Shutdown)

Interface intf5 (0.0.0.0): Link Down (Shutdown)

Other host: Secondary - Standby

Active time: 0 (sec)

Interface outside (0.0.0.0): Unknown (Shutdown)

Interface inside (0.0.0.0): Unknown (Shutdown)

Interface FO (196.45.175.254): Unknown (Waiting)

Interface intf3 (0.0.0.0): Unknown (Shutdown)

Interface intf4 (0.0.0.0): Unknown (Shutdown)

Interface intf5 (0.0.0.0): Unknown (Shutdown)

I will appreciate any assistance you can provide ...

Regards

Lincoln

Hi Nadeem, in the production enviroment this will be connected to two 3750 switches which are trunked via fibre - the necessary vlans will be conf'ed including the vlan dedicated for failover.

Because this not working in production I've brought this to my desk connecting it to a single 2950 with the vlans for inside, outside & failover setup on the same switch.
