I have 6.3(4) version of PIX. Although "logging on" and "logging timestamp" are in the config, I can not see timestamp in log. All I see are message IDs like
"606001: PDM session number 0 from 10.XXX. started".
Is something missing ? "sh clock" shows the right time..
fwdc01(config)# sh clock

Are you viewing these messages on the firewall console? The logging timestamp only applies to syslog messages.

yes, I am hoping to see them on the console, syslog is disabled intentionally.
thanks

Hi Serhat,
Timestamp can only be viewed on a syslog server and not on pix console.
