PIX - NAT

Hi,

Below is the PIX config statement :

static(outside, inside) a.b.c.0 d.e.f.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 0 0

This command translates a.b.c.1 to d.e.f.1 and so on - My question, should it not be random like a.b.c.x -> d.e.f.z and so on ?

I was under the impression that it will be random, the result suggests otherwise (which is a good thing) - can somebody shed some light?

No, it isn't random, the PIX will use the same host IP address when using a network static.
